MiTTEE team

Major: Aerospace Engineering – Astronautics Track, ’21

Minor: Multidisciplinary Design Minor

Liam is a senior studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Multidisciplinary Design. He is currently working as MiTEE-1’s Mission Operations Manager, with past roles including being a co-lead on the Orbits, Attitude Determination, and Control Subsystem (OADCS) sub-team.

“MDP has given me hands-on research and development experience working on an advanced project in my field. I’ve learned how to effectively lead a diverse group of people in pursuit of a common goal. I’ve made many connections with faculty members that I’ve consulted with to solve some of the more complex challenges of building a satellite. Joining MDP has truly given me both academic and industrial experiences I would never be able to find in a traditional classroom setting.”

In addition to his work on campus, Liam has attended the SmallSat conference in 2019 and 2020, along with training at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab. After graduation Liam plans on continuing his work with exploring space. He is currently in the process of applying to the Space Systems Engineering SUGGS program and hopes to someday work on one of NASA’s flagship space exploration missions.
