Mechanical Engineering | Earning MECHENG 450 Credit on an MDP Project

Mechanical Engineering majors who have completed the necessary prerequisite courses are eligible to earn ME 450 credit on pre-approved MDP Sponsored Projects (during the second semester of their project only). Students who successfully complete all requirements of ME 450 are able to count it directly toward their degree.

Enrollment Plan: ME students earning ME 450 credit on an MDP Project

Winter Semester Fall Semester

ENGR 355 or 455 (depending on standing)

(3 credit hours)

ME 450 (4 credit hours)

 

In order to earn ME 450 credit for their MDP project, students must complete all requirements of both courses (as outlined by the MDP program and the ME department).

  • To be eligible for ME 450, students must complete all ME 450 prerequisites (ME 320, 350, 360, 395) and be officially declared as a Mechanical Engineering major before Winter 2025 term.
  • Complete the MDP Design Reviews/Assignments with their MDP team.
  • Individually complete the ME 450 block assignments.
  • Submit a group final report for ME 450.
