Jennifer Carlson

As the Program Manager for Sponsored Projects within the Multidisciplinary Design Program, Jenn is responsible for overseeing the operations of the MDP sponsored projects, including: recruiting corporate and non-profit organizations, scoping student projects, recruiting students to participate in the program, and supporting them with professional coaching throughout the project.

With 23 years of industry experience in the automotive seating sector, Jenn is excited to return to her alma mater, where she earned both her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and her MBA. Jenn has worked in various functions including validation, design, product launch, requirements management, and most recently, innovation. In her former life, Jenn also served as a corporate sponsor mentor for numerous ME450 projects and an MDP project, and loves to talk to people in industry about how they can benefit from sponsoring student work.

When she isn’t working, Jenn can often be found cooking, knitting, cheering for the Wolverines and spending time with her family.
