MSC Simufact Additive Workshop
Friday, February 10, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Duderstadt Rm #1180
Simufact Additive is a powerful FEA simulation software enabling optimization of metallic powder bed additive manufacturing processes in order to get it “right the first time.” This simulation tool allows accurate prediction of distortion and residual stresses resulting from the printing, support cutting, and heat treatment processes. Simufact Additive provides the insight necessary to efficiently implement design and manufacturing process modifications to ensure that a quality part is manufactured on the very first try. Simufact Additive enables users optimize the metal additive manufacturing process to reduce unnecessary machine time and material waste. Students interested in Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, Advanced Manufacturing, Product Design, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to attend.
*Please note that this is a Windows based software. Participants have to bring their own laptop and charger to the workshop. They will be sent instructions to install the software on their laptops closer to the date.
If you do not have a Windows OS and would still like to attend this workshop, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a laptop might be provided for you to use during the workshop. These loaner laptops are limited and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. You will be informed closer to the date if a loaner laptop has been assigned to you.
*Food will be provided.
*RSVP Required. Please RSVP no later than Monday, Feb 6th
