BioRedemption – An Interactive Biology Game

BioRedemption – An Interactive Biology Game

PrepNet is a charter school management company that operates five college preparatory high schools in Michigan. Two in the Grand Rapids area, one in Ypsilanti, one in Taylor, and one in Canton. Our schools are free, public, charter schools that are open to any student grades 9-12.

Students on this MDP Project Team will design, test and deliver a web-based video game experience designed to review core elements of 9th grade biology curriculum for PrepNet students. Students will develop and hone skills in experimental design, modeling of biologic processes, interpreting data, research and communication, and engineering design.

Curriculum designers from PrepNet will provide all of the content and the questions, but students on this team will be fully responsible for creating the game and will have design input on all game elements, including topics such as: Are there levels? How are the questions asked? Are there characters? Is there a story line? How does a student “win”?
