Student Recruitment for 2017 Projects Has Begun!
Attend one (or both!) of the two events highlighted above. You will shake hands and speak with engineering and product development professionals about the MDP project they are sponsoring. Build your network, learn about the projects, and position yourself as a great candidate. Attire is casual!
What is the MDP Project Preview Night?
All Corporate Partners and Faculty Research Teams will be in the Bob & Betty Beyster Atrium (Tishman Hall) to meet with interested students, discuss design project opportunities, and collect student resumes. Bottled Water & Insomnia Cookies will be served. Casual Attire is fine. Attend this event if you cannot attend the Project Opportunity Fair.
October 4, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
How can I apply to work on a specific project?
After the fair, Students may apply by Clicking Here. You will upload your resume once, and then rank your interest in any number of projects. (You can apply for 1, 2, 3….up to all 50!) Each project you select will require a very brief statement of interest, and an option to self-record a brief video interview. Interviews are not required. Sample statements will be provided on the application.
How are teams assigned?
Once all student applications are received, our Corporate Partners and Faculty Mentors provide the MDP Leadership Team with their student preferences based on students’ majors, prior experience, general qualifications and level of enthusiasm for the project.
The MDP Leadership team works hard to maximize satisfaction among all three groups: Students, Corporate Partners and Faculty Mentors, with a goal of fully staffing all teams with appropriate student skillsets and giving students a chance to deliver outstanding design.
